Impermanence: Journal of Plague Days

My works and days are fled
and chased by arrows of Apollo.
What have I been but habits
in a shell of reassurances, now cracked.
What am I now but alimentary— food and drink and sleep.
What am I now but barricade and low panic,
ensconced in antechamber, scared to death.
